About Obstetrics Gynecology |
The origins of Obstetrics and Gynecology of the University of Santo Tomas Hospital is historically and inseparably linked with that of the University of Santo Tomas Faculty of Medicine and Surgery, which was established in 1871.
The original training hospital of the Faculty was the San Juan de Dios Hospital, before what came to be known as the Santo Tomas University was established in 1946 in its present location.

The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology envisions itself as a relevant tool in making UST Hospital a center of excellence in health particularly obstetrical and gynecological care from which emanates education, training and research in a setting that nurtures relationships between patients and practitioners guided by Catholic Faith and Morals.
The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology of the USTH commits itself to:
- to provide quality care to all patients regardless of social status faith, race,
- to educate, and train competent, compassionate medical practitioner
- to pursue continuing medical education through research and scientific fora
- to utilize state of the art equipments for the proper diagnosis and treatment
