Historical Background

The UST Hospital Cardiac Catheterization and Intervention Unit (CCIU) became a reality in 2001. The unselfish endowment of the UST Medical Alumni Association of America (USTMAA), Mid-west chapter and Dr. Jorge Garcia's. The project of CCL came to fruition with the strong leadership of our rector, Fr. Tamerlane Lana and the UST hospital treasurer, Fr. Manuel Roux. The CCIU was officially inaugurated in July 11, 2001 thru the efforts of Att. Pilar Almira (chief operating officer) and the medical director's, Dr. Estrella Villar then Dr. Tito Torralba, with the project director Dr. Johnny T. Go.
