Patient Scheduling

1. There will be no discrimination between charity and private patients in scheduling.

2. Schedule patients have priority over non-scheduled patients except in emergency cases.

3. Emergency cases will be assigned to the machine for emergency and in the event that there is more than one emergency they will be given preference over scheduled patients and as such, scheduled patients may be displaced from their slot. In situations like this, appropriate measures shall be taken to inform displaced patients immediately.

4. Schedule of patients are made one week in advance. Such information is available for inquires from the unit supervisor or charge nurse.

5. Patients are requested to make necessary confirmation, reservation or cancellation of hemodialysis slots in two or three days in advance to avoid confusion.
