About Center For Respiratory Medicine |
Historical Background
The once inconspicuous pulmonary service had its formal debut in 1993 as the Lung Institute (LI). Under its founding director, Dr. Alberto A. Lardizabal, the LI continued to add diagnostic and therapeutics services to its initially limited utilities.
In 1997, Dr. Noel V. Bautista took over the reins of directorship and pursued his vision of transforming the institute into a state-of-the-art facility. With the advent of the 21st century, Drs. Marilyn Ong-Mateo and Ivan N. Villespin, Section Chief of Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine and Director respectively, took over the helm to take the former LI - now the Center for Respiratory Medicine (CRM) to greater heights.
As we start with the new leadership of Dr. Isaias Lanzona, we look forward to bigger and better things as we strengthen the various services of the center.
